Job Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant functions in a role accountable for providing comprehensive, family-centered care to patients and families in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department.  Shriners Spokane is looking for a PRN Certified Medical Assistant to join the team.

Schedule: PRN

The pay range for this position is $16.92-$25.38/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes. 
  • Demonstrates skills necessary to assist with casting, splinting, and dressing application, removal and cleaning.
  • Safely removes casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin care.
  • Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies
  • Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 3 months of hire
  • American Association  of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Licensed in state of practice

Preferred

  • High School Diploma / GED 
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Outpatient Clinic, Orthopaedic and cast background preferred.

Staff CMA functioning in a specialty role accountable for providing comprehensive, family-centered care to patients and families in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department. Provides the highest possible level of comprehensive care to Outpatient Clinic patients and their families under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or RN. Location: Redmond Schedule: PRN Responsibilities Assists physicians, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures, the intake and depart processes. Accurately documents findings during the intake process in the EMR. Measures, weighs, and obtains vitals and pulse oximetry and accurately documents in the computer.
