Job Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant functions in a role accountable for providing comprehensive, family-centered care to patients and families in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department.  Shriners Spokane is looking for a PRN Certified Medical Assistant to join the team.

Schedule: PRN

The pay range for this position is $16.92-$25.38/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes. 
  • Demonstrates skills necessary to assist with casting, splinting, and dressing application, removal and cleaning.
  • Safely removes casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin care.
  • Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies
  • Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 3 months of hire
  • American Association  of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Licensed in state of practice

Preferred

  • High School Diploma / GED 
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Outpatient Clinic, Orthopaedic and cast background preferred.
