Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time RN to join our highly committed and dynamic Emergency Services team as we provide excellent quality care to over 68,000 patients of all ages annually. 

What You'll Do:

As a nurse, you will play a direct role in providing LOVE + MEDICINE for a broad range of patient acuities. You will be expected to perform with a high degree of clinical and professional aptitude while helping deliver patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team of Providers, RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Social Workers. Emergency Services, a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, is a high-energy, patient-centered environment consisting of 45 total patient exam rooms including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms that serve every patient population from infancy to the elderly. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. We are also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities. Emergency Services, a 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, is recognized and acknowledged for excellence throughout the department through metrics and patient experience that is difficult to find anywhere else in the nation.

What's Available:

  • Part-time, 48 hours biweekly (0.6 FTE). Will orientate fulltime for 12 weeks

  • 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a, every third weekend and holiday rotation

  • Starting pay of $38.01 per hour and up, based on your years of experience, as well as generous shift/weekend/holiday differentials

What You'll Need: 

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing

  • An active Wisconsin or multi-state RN license upon start

  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including toddlers and adults

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

  • Prior acute RN experience preferred

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Completion of a recognized course of study from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ALS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification s through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) within the last year Two years of recent experience in Emergency Department Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor ’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
