MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Under general direction, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible under direction of a physician for providing general medical care, preventative care and treatment to patients in one of the agency’s clinics. This work is carried out in support of the mission. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of a physician based on assigned program. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. Records accurate medical histories, physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient’s condition. Documentation includes medical evaluations, diagnosis, procedures, treatment, prognosis, referrals, education and consultation. Discusses case with physician and other health professionals and therapeutic team to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician. Prescribes medications and monitor effectiveness, or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or related therapeutic procedures. Refers patients to physician or to specialized health resources for treatment. Makes patients aware of importance of a healthy lifestyle. Educates patients and their families on their preventive care, medical issues and use of prescribed medications and treatments. Analyzes new data gained from conferences, training workshops, professional literature and on the job training, where they will assimilate it into their clinical work. Keeps abreast of changes in field. Performs other duties as requested. REQUIREMENTS: Education, Experience and Skills Required: Master’s degree from an accredited advanced Nurse Practitioner program At least Two (2) years’ experience working as a Nurse Practitioner preferably in addiction medicine or substance use and/or mental health treatment programs Knowledgeable about federal and state regulations governing medical/clinical treatment in substance use treatment programs Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to patients with a variety of psycho social issues License/Certification Required: NYS RN and NP (Adult and Family specialty areas) licensures. Valid DEA registration. eMedNY Provider. Valid NPI. BLS Certification. Preferred Education, License/Certification, Experience and/or Skills: National Board Certification within 12 months of hire. Description MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine - Maine’s only full-service Level IV NICU children’s hospital, isrecruiting for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP); a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or a Physician Associate/Assistant. This is a combined day and night position and new grads with a strong neonatal background are encouraged to apply. The APP will provide detailed and comprehensive assessment and treatment of neonatal patients within the framework of safe patient and family centered care. The APP will be responsible for attending high-risk deliveries, as well as functioning as the lead on neonatal transports. The scope of practice encompasses the development and recording of a plan for care in collaboration with family, multidisciplinary team members, and community resources for both chronic and episodic illnesses. The Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship at UTHealth Heart & Vascular is a 12‑month, full‑time postgraduate training program designed to prepare new graduate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for advanced clinical practice in cardiovascular medicine. This intensive fellowship accelerates the transition from graduate training to high-level, independent practice within a high‑ acuity, specialized cardiovascular environment. Fellows receive structured, competency‑ based training aligned with American College of Cardiology (ACC) cardiovascular team competencies, while gaining comprehensive ‑hands-on‑ experience across the full continuum of cardiovascular care. The Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship is a regular, classified full‑time appointment for a 12‑month term, inclusive of an initial six‑month probationary period. Participants must successfully complete all program requirements and obtain and maintain all required certifications, licensure, and credentials within established timeframes. The fellowship is a term‑limited training appointment only and does not confer any right or expectation of employment beyond the fellowship period. As part of MaineHealth’s comprehensive network, Lincoln Hospital’s Primary Care team delivers expert, patient-centered healthcare across multiple locations, including Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Waldoboro, and Wiscasset, Maine. This is a float position requiring travel between multiple primary care office locations around Lincoln County, Maine. The Float Virtual Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide high-quality virtual primary care services across multiple primary care practices within our system. This role supports continuity of care for established patients, assists with new patient onboarding, performs telehealth visits not requiring physical examination, manages provider in-baskets, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives across the network.
