Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist - Cardiovascular for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital location in Maplewood, MN.

We’re offering an up to $8,000 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000!

As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day and evening shift. This position will also work a rotating weekends.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for:

Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items.
Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.
Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens.

Required Qualifications:

Complete one of the following by hire date:

Military Surgical Assistant; OR
LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR

Surgical Technologist training

Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date)
At least 1 year of Cardiovascular experience as a Surgical Technologist

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire
1 to 3 years surgical tech experience

Other Required Skills:

Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served.
Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions.

Desired Skills:
