Position Summary:

Functions as a total resident care giver, utilizing the nursing process in meeting the health care needs of residents in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act. Maintains resident privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects resident rights.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Applies the nursing process in provision of resident care
  • Performs resident assessments and collects data needed to complete assessments, Minimum Data Set and Care Area Assessments.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the formulation of a resident plan of care and its revisions; and participates in team and family conferences as needed

Required:

  • Graduate of approved school of practical nursing OR completion of a U.S. Armed Forces Practical Nursing Program
  • Licensed by state of Michigan
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire
  • IV training module and competency evaluation within 3 months of hire

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in long-term care or acute care setting
