Job Summary and Qualifications

A registered professional nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The registered nurse first assistant (RNFA) takes on an intra-operative expanded role as a first assistant, under the direction and supervision of the surgeon. 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (CNOR) Certified Perioperative Nurse and First Assist must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years surgical scrub nurse experience and one year experience as a certified first assistant
