A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) varying shifts, which can include days, evenings, nights and weekends. You must work 48 hours within a six-week period. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Assist with direct and indirect patient care for one to two patients, such as rooming, vital signs, weight and pulse oximetry. If assigned to a closed unit, you will observe three to four patients. Assure patient safety by ensuring that catheters, tubes or other medical equipment have not been removed or disconnected.
