Infection Preventionist / Staff Development RN Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors

  • Conduct surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation of infectious diseases and outbreaks, and implement control measures as needed

  • Provide training and education to staff on infection prevention and control practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborative projects with other departments to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare-associated infections

  • Collaborate with the Incident Command System (ICS) to respond to emergencies and incidents related to infection control

  • Perform accurate and timely documentation of infection control activities, reports, and data analysis

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local and state health departments, as well as other healthcare organizations to stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in infection prevention and control

Infection Preventionist / Staff Development RN Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention and control, or related field

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred

  • Some skilled nursing facility experience required
