Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our PCU Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, you will help critically ill patients by providing exceptional care, monitoring and managing their conditions, and administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

 

  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing team to devise and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
  • Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits, while fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.

 

Incentives: up to $15,000 sign on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 5 months of hire

 

Where You'll Work

The PCU at CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 49 bed unit. We specialize in intermediate care. All patients have additional monitoring via telemetry. We strive to provide a level of care and highly skilled nurses that allow our community and surrounding areas to receive health care close to home.

 

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
