JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Surgical Tech in our Duke Aesthetics Center located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pull all necessary equipment and supplies for surgeries, surgeon specific
Set up surgical field and maintain sterility at all times
Clean instruments after surgery
Clean and set up OR for next surgery
Sterilize instruments and put away sterile instruments
Clean and stock exam rooms
Alert team members if supply stock is low

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA). Or, provides evidence of the successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Military.

BLS required.

JOB HOURS:

The position is Monday through Friday day shift, hours will vary. No weekends and no nights.

Typical duties may include: Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures Prepare sterile instrument table for your procedures Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery Maintain sterile techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in sterile technique Assist the surgical team during procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges and sutures Assist in monitoring patients Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures Qualifications Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program required Certification as a Surgical Technologist required (NCCT, NBSTSA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Hospital-based OR Tech experience preferred, required for PRN Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds Team player attitude Benefits HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
