University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Arthroplasty practice in St. Cloud, Minnesota M Physicians, in partnership with CentraCare, is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic practice in the St. Cloud, MN. The Orthopedic Section is a multispecialty practice with fellowship-trained sports medicine, adult reconstruction, foot and ankle and trauma surgeons, and primary care sports medicine physicians.

About the job:

An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specializing in Total Joints will provide primary or specialty medical care within the scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician. They work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, offering a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with orthopaedic health conditions. Their responsibilities include collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, documenting accurate progress notes, performing and interpreting diagnostic procedures, and facilitating communication with patients, families, and staff to ensure continuity of care. They also participate in the development of quality indicators and acquire information on current trends in the NP/PA field through educational programs, conferences, and professional associations.

Schedule:

1.0 FTE
Monday - Friday – clinic and surgical hours, clinic seeing outpatients, outpatient surgery, and inpatient surgery with rounding
Call (1 in 10 weekends, 1 in 10 evenings) at a level II trauma center
Potential for travel to outreach clinics in Monticello or Paynesville

A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s).

The University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) is a 1,932 licensed bed facility, Level III Trauma Center, Stroke Center and Level I Cardiac Center. Between our two adult emergency departments, approximately 50,000 patients are seen with close to 14,000 admissions annually. In our pediatric emergency department approximately 23,000 patients are seen annually accounting for 3,000 admissions. Our PAs and NPs serve as integral members of a multidisciplinary team providing excellence in emergency medical care. In addition, the PA/NP coordinates care with consultant services, recommends follow-up care, facilitates referral to various internal and external facilities and takes part in multidisciplinary continuous quality improvement. Our UMMC Adult Emergency Medicine provider group includes about 40 physicians and a growing number of PAs/NPs. Patients are seen in both the West and East Bank Emergency Departments, which house over 50 beds. Our group is focused on providing high-quality patient care and expanding the academic focus of the University of Minnesota Medical Center. We work with several learners at various stages in their medical education.
