Overview

Under direction, to perform work providing medical services to patients within the scope of their license to practice in the State of Indiana in a physician office practice setting.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

  • Assists in identifying potential areas of program development, developing strategic implementation plan, identifying, implementing and coordinating program development objectives from the clinical and nursing perspective, continuous monitoring and implementation of the most efficient and effective patient care systems, designing and implementing of clinical research and quality improvement projects.
  • Identifies patient educational needs and designs and implements a comprehensive patient education plan.
  • Performs a complete physical exam, including the complete system on patients identifying abnormalities and changes, and documents findings in the patients chart and relays pertinent information to the physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides leadership and direction for the program and office staff, and mentors office staff , providing leadership and direction.
  • Supports the activities of the medical director, physicians, and Supervisor of Operations through consultation and direct patient care activities in physician office settings.

    EDUCATION

    • Graduation from a recognized college or university of nurse practitioner training.

    Job Description Under the general supervision of the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic Medical Director, Pain Clinic Medical Director, and Chief of Anesthesia, and in accordance with standardized procedures, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) role will work clinically in the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic (PAC). The Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic is an ambulatory clinic responsible for the preoperative assessment and optimization of patients undergoing surgery. The clinic offers telemedicine and in-person consultations. The NP role provides clinical and operational support to the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. General responsibilities are obtaining a health history, performing a physical assessment, identifying problems and formulating a plan that includes further diagnostic evaluation, risk stratification and counseling. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Nurse Practitioner 1 (less than six (6) months of experience as an NP): At least one year of recent work in outpatient neurology and/or neurosurgery clinic Nurse Practitioner 2 (at least six (6) months of NP experience): At least two years of recent work in outpatient internal medicine or critical care. A minimum one (1) year of recent clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
