The School Registered Nurse Ambulatory provides health services to facilitate optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development for students within the schools. Cares for students with chronic health issues and helps identify health needs during the course of the school day. Provides health education, medication management, emotional support and referral to higher levels of care based on student needs. Supports the education process by working to assure the health of the students. Promotes healthy habits and overall health to strengthen maximum learning. The school nurse position is located on the north side in Indianapolis, Indiana with Lawrence Township School District. The school nurse will support Lawrence North High School. This School RN opening is for the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year, and the nurse will start in the summer of 2026.

Exceptional Skills And Qualifications

  • Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • One year or more of nursing experience required.
  • Two years of experience working with pediatric patients required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
