Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the supervising provider to provide the highest standards of support to the MACC practice. Delivers excellent customer service to patients through participation in a medical care team. Demonstrates a high level of competence with support in accordance with MACC’s policies and procedures. Description Assists in providing clinical care to office patients as delegated by supervising provider Manages provider’s daily schedule and patient flow to expedite care and maximize clinical time Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, and checks two-patient identifiers Communicates status of delegated task completion to supervising provider Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs as indicated (i.e. height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation) Inputs pertinent clinical information into the electronic health record timely and with accuracy and collects home medication lists Assists clinicians with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. Keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information pertaining to the patient’s visit Prepare and maintain exam rooms for patient arrivals. Clean and/or maintain inventory of supplies (medical included) and equipment throughout the practice. We Are Hiring: Nurse Intern II - ProHealth Care- Mukwonago Emergency Department- .6 FTE- Days/ PMs The Emergency Department is a fast pace, high acuity ED with 35 patient rooms. We are a Stroke Center, Chest Pain Accredited, and a Level 3 Trauma Center. The unit sees 40,000 plus patients annually (birth to end of life). In addition to providing emergency services to patients of all ages the department supports victims of sexual abuse with specially trained sexual assault nurse examiners (SANE). The ED has about 80 staff members – Nurses, Techs, and HUCs. Schedule Details: This .6 FTE commits to 24 hours per week, two 12 hour shifts per week on a day shift/ PM shift rotation. This position is open to nursing students graduating in May- August 2026 who are planning to work in the Mukwonago Emergency Department after graduation. This is not a seasonal or temporary position. What You Will Do: Under the supervision of the registered nurse, the Nurse Intern collects objective data according to the clinical practice and theory obtained from nursing education and in orientation. Utilizes this objective data and works under the supervision of the registered nurse in providing nursing care grounded in the ANA standards of nursing practice. May administer medications under the direct supervision of the RN after completing Pharmacology course (or equivalent content) in school. The Nurse Intern must be a nursing student entering the final semester of a registered nurse program or an individual having completed a nursing program but not yet obtained state licensure to practice as an RN. Obtains clinical knowledge and technical skills while working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse i.e Clinical Nurse 2,3 or 4. Job Role Summary Program Overview: The Student Nurse Extern Program is offered to nursing students who have completed their junior year. The Student Nurse Extern performs functions of a student nurse under the guidance of an Eskenazi Health RN. The externship is a 9 week program with a 28-hour-per-week commitment, which includes a mandatory four-hour lecture on Friday of each week. The program will begin on May 26, 2026 and end July 26, 2026. Attendance is required for the entire 9 weeks. Clinical Units: Acuity Adaptable, Burn Center, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Family Beginnings, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Mental Health Recovery Center, Operating Rooms and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, and Primary Care Centers Applications: Applications must be submitted by February 1st, 2026.
