He/she will maintain skills in setting priorities, organizing workload effectively, changes in assignment and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Requires taking call. The health center nurse is responsible for: meeting the established Standards of Nurse Care, managing any assigned personnel and promoting collaboration among the disciplines. The health center nurse is accountable to the Health Center Medical Director, Executive Director, patient and family for all nursing behavior. Patient population includes: all age groups to include children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. EDUCATION: Completion of a Medical Assistant program. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Must provide a transcript or diploma of completion of a medical assistant program. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One to two years nursing experience in a physician’s office, preferably primary care.
DEFINITION: The office coordinator performs a variety of clerical tasks that require basic knowledge of systems and procedures. Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the position is responsible for the daily operations of the medical office which includes answering phones, filing, appointment scheduling, posting of charges, payments and patient demographics, faxing, copying, researching ICD-10 codes or CPT codes, and knowledge of insurance companies and their payment systems. The position interacts exclusively with patients of all ages and cultures, physicians and mid-level practitioners, hospital staff, the health center nurse(s) and outside business (pharmacies, drug representatives, etc.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to type, computer, communication and customer service skills required. High School graduate or greater, basic computer and secretarial skills preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
