NP/PA, Surgical - Pediatric Urology

Location: Dodson Medical Office Building Department: Urology Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: Cook Children's is growing their Pediatric Urology team and has a full-time opportunity for a Pediatric Urology Advanced Practice Provider (APP). The NP/PA, Surgical functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides practice/clinic/call coverage and may round for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital rounding/consultation, assisting in surgery if appropriate and prescriptive authority. Education and Experience Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred. Physician Assistants Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Current Texas professional registered nurse license Current Texas professional advanced practice registered nurse license Certified as an RNFA preferred Certified as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Current Basic Life Support (CPR) is required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required when assigned to Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Pediatric nurse practitioner acute care certification required when assigned to Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Pediatric Surgery/Trauma Physician Assistants Current Texas professional physician assistant license. Certified as a PA-C Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required. RN, NICU

Location: Medical Center-Prosper Department: NICU Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 24 Summary: The Prosper RN will provide nursing care to a wide variety of patients within the facility. During each shift, the RN may be assigned to another unit based upon patient care needs and may be required to provide nursing care to patients within the nurses scope of RN practice. This RN will provide strong patient care skills, excellent customer service focusing on quality and safety while being an advocate for the patient and the organization. Part-Time 24 hours per week 7a - 7p Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. 6 months of nursing experience required. Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Current BLS Advanced life support certifications (PALS, NRP, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC) may be required for various departments within 1 year of hire. SC Medical Assistant

Location: Dodson Medical Office Building Department: Ear Nose Throat Clinic Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 32 Summary: The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations. Education and Experience High School diploma required. Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Current BLS Certification required. National certification preferred. SC Epilepsy Coordinator (RN)

Location: Dodson Medical Office Building Department: Cln-Neurosurgery Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: Coordinate scheduling of patients, physicians, staff, equipment, and site/space for epilepsy patients. Coordinate all necessary paperwork and orders in a timely fashion for In-patient admission, ancillary testing and clinic patients. Participates actively in all phases of the procedure. Qualifications: Associate Nursing required, BSN preferred RN experience 3-5 years experience. Possess excellent interpersonal skills. Neurology background would be ideal, but not necessary. Computer literacy and working knowledge of excel, access, power point, word. Certification/Licensure: Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas. Current BLS Certification. Will obtain PALS certification within two years from their date of hire/transfer date. Other certification may be required by department.
