Certified Nursing Assistant MSP-Nights

Description JOB SUMMARY AND SCOPE The certified nursing assistant (CNA) will perform the functions of carrying out all assigned work as delegated by the nurse. The CNA will perform his/her job within their scope of practice and is accountable for all patient care given to them during the assigned shift. It is one’s responsibility for adhering to all standards of nursing practice, managing supplies and equipment under the direction of the nurse and promoting positive team work with unit staff and other hospital employees. The CNA will adhere to hospital policies including but not limited to confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and the American Disabilities Act. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Demonstrate clinical proficiency within scope of practice Provide basic personal hygiene needs for patient to include but not limited to: bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, toileting, bed making, and positioning Assist patient with dietary needs as needed and ordered Obtain patient vital signs and weights as ordered Use equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner Document all performed care given by oneself including but not limited to: intake and output, vital signs, ambulation and hygienic care Collection of specimens as ordered according to instructions for collection and as delegated Assist with patient treatments within the scope of practice, i.e.: enemas, perineal care, application of hot/cold compresses, surgical preps, foley care, application of ace wraps and TED stockings Assist with assigned patients for examinations, procedures and X-rays Knowledge of the disaster, fire, bomb threat and evacuation plans and your role in the plans as they relate to the unit Perform any other duties as assigned to insure age appropriate quality patient care Attend 75% of unit staff meetings Perform duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures Comply with the Code of Conduct and all appropriate codes, policies, and procedures Other duties, as assigned, that are relevant to the position and department Assist nurses with admission, transfer and discharge of patients following procedures Provide patient comfort measures such as patient privacy, answering call bells promptly, supporting patients and families during hospital stay Follow all procedures to ensure patient, family, visitor and employee safety Report changes in patient's condition, requests or problems to nurse team leader Maintains confidentiality of patient information Clean utilities, equipment according to procedure and assists in maintaining unit in an orderly manner Demonstrates practice of infection control policies such as hand-washing, aseptic technique, and universal precautions Acts rapidly and calmly during emergencies and provides necessary materials called for by RN or physician Cooperates and offers help to all personnel, patients and visitors Exhibits good attendance practices and alters work schedule when need arises; conforms to procedure for reporting illness when necessary Stays available and accessible at all times while on duty Assists in all hospital units as needed Follows unit dress code Requirements *DECH is an equal opportunity employer.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Current placement as a CNA on the Maine Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants BLS Hospital experience preferred Excellent communication skills needed Ability to multi-task and take direction well Positive attitude required PHYSICAL EFFORT AND ENVIRONMENT Clinical: Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds independently. Description Greets and prepares patient for office visit or outpatient procedure. Obtains vital signs and weighs each patient. Updates problem and medication list at each patient visit. Assists in procedures requested by the medical provider. Performs phlebotomy as needed. Checks charts routinely for omissions and compliance. Maintains sterilization process of all instruments. Makes referral and prescription calls per medical provider’s orders. Refilling prescriptions, per protocol and as applicable. Screens calls including emergency calls. Assures that all necessary release and consent forms are signed. Performs lab testing according to set protocols and maintains yearly competency. Performs look up per protocol on the Maine Prescription Monitoring Program. Performs Medication Prior Authorizations, as needed. Provider Practice Manager

Description Work Type: Full Time The Practice Manager is responsible for operational management of the practice(s) and is required to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and creativity to identify opportunities and problems, analyze data, develop initiatives and solutions and meet program goals. Responsibilities include day to day operational management, revenue integrity, budgeting, facilitating provider relations and managing within hospital policies, procedures and contracts. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions) Provides management, leadership, direction, and coordination of practice operations. Performs direct oversight and provides instruction to provider practice supervisors/leads as applicable. Maintains regular communications with Physicians and Advance Practice Providers within the practice and other medical staff involved with the department. Maintains practice budget and monthly financial operations. Responsible for planning and execution of financial goals. Coordinates the development of provider practice schedules and coordinates communication of initial and revised schedules, including call schedules as appropriate.
