DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Oncology unit specializes in the care of acutely ill adults and of those who require Cancer treatment and care. Oncology patients are given the highest standards of professional care by registered nurses and nurse assistants. Specialty certification in Oncology is strongly encouraged and supported. Telemetry monitoring is available for the patients requiring stable cardiac monitoring. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required upon hire. GSR Oncology Tele 3S: ACLS required within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of SHS ECG Monitoring class or an equivalent course approved by management required within six (6) months of hire. Oncology experience preferred. GSR Surgery Ambulatory - Short Stay: ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire. IV skills required. One (1) year experience as a general duty nurse with an emphasis in surgical nursing preferred.
