Main Function: The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care in the Perioperative setting utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN coordinates nursing care to patients, provides a safe patient environment, and delegates and supervises activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice. Provide personal care to residents such as bathing, dressing, passes nourishment, collecting specimens of urine, stool, and sputum, performing post-mortem care. Assist with skincare and repositioning such as reporting skin breakdown, applying lotion, turning residents side to side, using mechanical lifts, toileting residents. Maintain an orderly and clean environment. Use safe procedures to prevent injuries to residents, self, and others. Complete required documentation such as intake/output forms, vitals and weight.
