The Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role partners closely with neurosurgeons to evaluate, diagnose, and manage complex neurological conditions, while supporting surgical services and coordinating care across the continuum. The APP functions with a high level of autonomy and plays a key role in improving access, efficiency, and patient outcomes within the neurosurgery service line.

Job Description Under the general supervision of the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic Medical Director, Pain Clinic Medical Director, and Chief of Anesthesia, and in accordance with standardized procedures, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) role will work clinically in the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic (PAC). The Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic is an ambulatory clinic responsible for the preoperative assessment and optimization of patients undergoing surgery. The clinic offers telemedicine and in-person consultations. The NP role provides clinical and operational support to the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. General responsibilities are obtaining a health history, performing a physical assessment, identifying problems and formulating a plan that includes further diagnostic evaluation, risk stratification and counseling.
