Join RiverSpring Living – Where Quality Care Meets Compassion RiverSpring Living, a leader in senior care, is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the clinical operations across our Adult Care Facilities. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing health services, wellness programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance in line with New York State Department of Health (DOH) standards. The DON plays a vital role in creating a safe, resident-centered environment that supports dignity, quality outcomes, and excellence in care. This includes managing nursing staff, developing individualized care plans, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and ensuring exceptional communication with residents, families, physicians, and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all clinical care and health-related services within the Adult Home (AH), Assisted Living Residence (ALR), Enriched Housing Program (EHP), Enhanced Assisted Living Residence (EALR), and Special Needs Assisted Living Residence (SNALR). Ensure full compliance with NYS DOH regulations and internal policies. Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs) in collaboration with Case Managers and the Administrator/EHP Coordinator. Lead and evaluate nursing staff; supervise Home Health Aides (HHAs) assigned to medication management and personal care. Conduct initial and periodic resident assessments and reassessments (at least every 6 months or as needed). Maintain accurate clinical documentation, statistical data, and quality assurance reports. Participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of clinical policies and procedures. Serve as a liaison between residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external healthcare providers. Manage emergencies and clinical interventions across all care units. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (required) Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent education and experience considered Advanced training in nursing leadership a plus Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in long-term care or assisted living, including 4+ years in a supervisory or leadership role Strong knowledge of NYS Assisted Living and Adult Care Facility regulations Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills Exceptional clinical assessment and care planning abilities Strong communication and leadership skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record documentation Why Join RiverSpring Living?
