Job Description Schedule: 7p-7a Weekend Position (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) -36hrs Weekend Incentive: $15/hr We’re searching for a Staff RN Cardiac Care to coordinate professional nursing and individualized, family centered care to pediatric patients/families through the use of the nursing process and clinical skills in accordance with standards and hospital policies and procedures. Obtains skills necessary to care for cardiac patients regardless of acuity and age. With 24/7 in-house critical care physicians and advanced practice providers, as well as dedicated pharmacists, social workers, nurse navigators, and dietitians, the Cardiac Care Unit offers a multidisciplinary, family-centered approach to care. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) healthcare team. This is a 24-hour direct patient care unit with 6 private patient rooms. Patients admitted to the PICU are likely to be those with acute medical disease states. Our patients range in age from newborn to 19 years of age. We primarily care for patients with respiratory distress/respiratory failure, sepsis, status asthmaticus, DKA, status epilepticus, and post op Neurosurgery or other post-operative patients requiring ICU care. This includes patients with invasive monitoring (arterial lines, ICP monitoring, EVD monitoring), surgical drains/chest tubes, invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, tracheostomies with vent support, vasopressor requirement (epinephrine, dopamine, vasopressin), and/or continuous sedation requirement (versed, fentanyl, precedex etc). This is a supportive close-knit team where the patients and their families are the center of our care.
