Responsibilities Will Include Rounding with the neurosurgery team on all neurosurgical/neuroscience patients. Primary management of all patients admitted to the NCCU and/or Neurosurgery services. Provide consult services as necessary for patients whom neurosurgery has been consulted on. Responding to calls from nursing staff when questions arise or when clinical changes are observed in a patient. The NP/PA Will Communicate With The Primary Teams Throughout The Day As Needed To Share Clinical Condition Changes, New Laboratory Results, Consultant Recommendation Etc. On The Neurosurgical And Neurology Patients. After Appropriate Training The NP/PA Will be able to perform interpretation of routine neurologic studies. Assist with data collection and management in the clinical research on the unit under the direction of the physician. Additional Responsibilities Maintain ACLS certification and competency. Participate in appropriate professional organizations and engage in clinical research as able. Possibility of consult responsibilities. Required Qualifications* Np Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan. Current specialty certification to practice as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Current specialty certification to practice as a FNP, AGPCNP, or ANP with 4 years experience as an APP in the ICU clinical environment with the same acuity and patient population-within the past 6 years. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing(NCSBN). Current DEA registration ACLS (American Heart Association)/BLS (American Heart Association) Recent inpatient experience working with Neurology, Neurosurgery, or ICU patients. Inpatient APP experience with Neurosurgical patients preferred. Pa Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commissionon Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP. Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan. State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required Current DEA registration ACLS (American Heart Association)/BLS (American Heart Association) Recent inpatient experience working with Neurology, Neurosurgery, or ICU patients. Responsibilities* Responsibilities Of The Adult Critical Care Cluster To provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to patients in each of the 7 Adult Intensive Care Units. This includes caring for patients in the Trauma Burn, Neuro-Surgical, Cardiovascular Surgery, Surgical, Medical, and Cardiac Intensive care unit, and Intermediate care units. This will include caring for patients with multiple types of illnesses and disease processes that require both physiologic monitoring and intensive nursing care. These patients often require ventilation support, hemodynamic monitoring, intracranial pressure monitoring, and fluid and electrolyte corrections, parenteral or enteral nutrition and use of multiple cardiac agents and vaso-pressive drips. Staff must actively participate as a member of the healthcare team in each of these critical care units. Staff must work closely with patients and families in each area to serve as both the critical care nurse as well as the patient/family advocate. Required Qualifications* Current Michigan Registered Nurse License. Two (2) or more years experience (within the past three (3) years) in the adult ICU arena of a Level 1 or 2 hospital as a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities* Provide anesthesia and anesthesia related care to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and/or surgical procedures to all patients regardless of age under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist, working collaboratively in a team environment. Prepare preoperative assessments including health histories and physical examinations. Develop the Anesthesia Care Plan with the anesthesiologist. Initiate and maintain appropriate perioperative anesthesia care. Maintain appropriate patient records including quality assurance documentation. Complete postoperative evaluations in accordance with department policies. Participate in ongoing projects. Support perioperative providers. Other duties or projects as assigned. Function in accordance with all institutional policies and guidelines. Maintain licensure, certification, credentialing, and current BLS and ACLS or PALS status at all times. This position requires radiation exposure and the requirement to wear the appropriate (PPE) personal protective equipment. Must be able to fulfill required weekend obligations. Must be self-directed, reliable, demonstrate initiative and motivation to work independently, and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Required Qualifications* Current and accurate resume and application must be completed. Minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program. Current, or ability to obtain, Michigan RN license and certification as a nurse anesthetist prior to hire. Current ACLS and/or PALS certification. Wear the appropriate (PPE) personal protective equipment as this position requires radiation exposure and the requirement to wear the appropriate PPE. Work in a myriad of anesthetizing locations. Desired Qualifications* Five years of adult ICU nursing experience. Two years full time equivalent (FTE) nurse anesthesia experience in an Anesthesia Care Team model.
