About the unit: We are excited to launch a 4-bed pilot program within our Child and Adolescent Unit, focused on providing specialized inpatient care for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability. This innovative program will lay the foundation for a future 10-bed unit at Pine Rest's Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health, opening in March 2026. The average patient stay is expected to be 25 days. The program emphasizes reducing challenging behaviors (such as aggression, self-injury, and property destruction) using a behavior analytic approach and closely monitored behavioral data. Family and caregiver training are a core part of the care model. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes psychiatrists, behavior analysts, therapists, social workers, and technicians—all working together to help patients build functional skills for successful reintegration into home, school, and community settings.
