The Rush University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine and Division of Hospital Medicine jointly seek multiple Advanced Practice Providers (APP) who are boarded-certified and trained to manage the care of adult patients waiting to be admitted to inpatient units. This role will assume primary responsibility for multiple patients at any given time. The main responsibilities include the monitoring of patient status, managing medications, ordering additional tests, reviewing results and managing consults. Based upon the workload, you may be asked to assist with management of low acuity patients. The APP will help emergency medicine and hospital medicine continue their strong, collaborative relationship through joint-appointments, functional cross-training, periodic interdepartmental shift assignments, and engagement on multi-specialty process improvement activities. There are 44 attending physicians, 36 residents, 4 fellows and 10 APPs on the Emergency Medicine / Hospital Medicine team. Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience required.
