Location: Kent Campus Hospital, Dover Delaware 3A Med Surg Status: Full Time 72 Hours Shift: Nights 7:00p - 7:00a, requires a weekend rotation SALARY RANGE: 16.98 - 25.48HOURLY General Summary: Three A (3A) is an Acuity Adaptable floor located at our Bayhealth Kent Campus in Dover. The unit is a 20 bed unit that cares for a variety of medically complex conditions including stroke, stroke like symptoms, telemetry, cardiac drips, continuous bipap and more. 3A is a certified stroke unit and staff on this floor are required to become NIHSS certified. 3A participates in the Nurse Residency Program and is a great place for new or experienced nurses. The Nursing Assistant position involves delivering clinical nursing services to patients. The Nursing Assistant functions under the supervision of a licensed nurse or therapist, providing care that does not require the judgment and skills of a licensed professional. After competency verification, the nursing assistant may deliver patient care services to the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care. Coordinates clerical duties of a diverse and confidential nature to maintain the efficiency of patient care areas. Department team members are authorized to have limited access to secured medication rooms to perform duties and responsibilities as defined in this job description. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non-Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request. Responsibilities: Follows nursing assistant plan of care established by the Registered Nurse within a specified timeframe; including, but not limited to, mouth care, bathing, AM and PM care, assistance with ambulation, transfers to chair and/or bed, taking and documenting vital signs, and recording accurate intake and output. Documents all patient care delivered according to established policies and procedures. Performs duties with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the assigned units. Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards. Communicate relevant patient information to a professional nurse within an appropriate time based on the level of urgency. Report problems immediately to a professional nurse. Answer intercom or call lights in a timely, courteous manner, with appropriate communication to the patient and/or professional nurse. Performs patient care based on established guidelines for diagnostic and therapeutic exams; i.e., NPO for labs or x-rays, OR, diet changes related to tests, enema-related tests. Perform safety and suicide precaution sitter duties as assigned. Assists other members of the nursing team and/or ancillary departments as requested. All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities. Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience: Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate Program ; ; Must meet one or more of the following criteria: Completion of a Nursing Assistant training course, Medical Assistant training course or Patient Care Technician training course. Completion of a Clinical lab simulation course which included training on vital signs, ADLs etc. Course must be verifiable via official transcript. Active or recent CNA certification in DE or another state. 1 year or more of verifiable work experience in a direct patient care role as a Nursing Asst, Medical Asst, PCT, or Home Health Aide. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high quality assessment and admissions services to the public. Location: Kent Campus Hospital Status: Full Time 80 Hours Shift: Day/ Evening SALARY RANGE: 143,894.40 - 223,038.40YEARLY General Summary: Works independently and with autonomous collaboration with physician to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The Nurse Practitioner works within a collaborative model to provide quality care and to improve patient outcomes by strengthening continuity of care in all settings for patients, families, and staff in both the hospital and physician practice settings. When department/case applicable, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient. The NP may refer the patient to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent medication. Responsibilities: Appropriately prescribes pharmaceuticals according to age, chronic medical conditions, allergies, drug interactions, and duration of therapy. Perform routine and specialty physical exams and document specific age-related preventative health screening. Educates and counsels patients to promote wellness. Addresses and provides resources for health risk behaviors. Interprets diagnostic tests for patient and provides appropriate referrals or consultations. Performs technical and surgical procedures for patients as necessary. Appropriately dispenses pharmaceuticals according to age, chronic medical conditions, allergies, drug interactions, and duration of therapy. Completes patient discharge planning and education; writes appropriate orders and prescriptions. Performs patient education and counseling to promote wellness. Evaluates patient’s progress toward attaining expected outcomes. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions in relation to outcomes. Documents patient’s response to interventions. Upholds the professional code of ethics. Keeps all licenses/certifications up to date (including ACLS and PALS, if applicable). All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
