Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy. Responsibilities: Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting. Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs. Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record. Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans. Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration. Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable. Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate. Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity. Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience: Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing Credential(s): Registered Nurse RN Basic Life Support BLS ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe *Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview Experience: Acute care RN experience strongly preferred, but not required Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience: Education: Bachelor Degree Nursing BSN Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable.
