We are currently hiring for Full Time positions! As a Correctional Nurse , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. Provides education concerning Psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual’s care. Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors. Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards, guidelines, techniques and initiates documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required. Accurately transcribes Provider orders and administers medications as prescribed. Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form. Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed. Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered by Providers when required. Completes nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications What You'll Bring: Graduated from an accredited Nursing program Unrestricted active license as Registered Professional Nurse through State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege Must be able to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques Working on ASAM 3.7, the RN shall have competencies and experience in conducting an alcohol or other drug focused nursing assessment The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy.
