N3S Medical Unit - 32 bed general medical unit, specializing in adult complex conditions with a main focus on respiratory diseases. Our nurses work closely with the physician, care manager, social worker, and PT/OT to ensure we deliver high quality/safe care to our patients. N2S Heart Failure Unit - 32 bed Telemetry/Heart Failure Accredited Unit providing comprehensive care to patients with complex cardiac conditions including heart failure, chest pain, dysrhythmias, syncope, pre and post cardiac procedures, and respiratory conditions. The team delivers compassionate, comprehensive care to hemodynamically stable patients requiring close monitoring of certain cardiac drips. Certified Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech at Surgical Institute of Reading The Certified Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. Key Responsibilities: Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during set-up of surgical procedures. Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment. Gather necessary surgical supplies and equipment. Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse. Gown and glove surgeons and assistants. Keep physician preference cards accurate and updated. Retain all specimens for pathology, confirming source and name with the surgeon. Transport surgical equipment to cleaning areas and assist with instrument reprocessing. Interact professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members. Follow Standard Universal Precautions, infection control protocols, and safety guidelines. Serve as a resource to other members of the healthcare team. Maintain required certifications such as CPR. Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program required Certification as required by state and/or center 1+ years of Surgical Tech experience in an Operating Room setting. The Licensed Practical Nurse's primary role is to provide nursing care for patients who are experiencing common, well-defined health problems. Conducts specified bedside laboratory tests, wound care, and provides for comfort and assistance in the performance of ADLs; Promotes the patient's ability to cope, adapt and/or solve situations related to illness and/or stressors. Provides supportive, age appropriate communication and culturally acceptable interventions and documents special needs. Provides for the safe delivery of medications in accordance with the facility policies and physician orders; administers medications utilizing established safety procedures / standards. Ensures patients are effectively assessed prior to and after medication administration. Accurately communicates/documents medication doses prescribed, and provides patient education on medication administered. Follows up on patient care responsibilities; communicates incomplete assignments and patient needs with other disciplines to assure continuity of care; transcribes orders accurately and performs chart audits of transcription accurately and according to facility guidelines. Utilizes nursing knowledge to successfully meet the needs of the facility, patient population and staff members. Utilizes nursing resources to enhance evidence-based practice. Guides, educates, and provides leadership as a preceptor to new staff. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
