Job Description Part-time temporary position, teach or assist in teaching one or more courses or clinical per academic term. Implements optimal learning experiences for students. Contributes to the college’s operational effectiveness through guided supervision of students’ clinical and didactic experiences under the direction of course faculty. Reports directly to the Dean, Nursing. Responsibilities Implements clinical/simulation/skills lab and/or didactic learning experiences to facilitate students meeting clinical and/or course outcomes. Utilizes evaluation surveys to determine effectiveness of clinical experience. Maintains expertise in and requisite requirements for the assigned area of clinical responsibility, teaching and professional nursing practice. Assists with course orientation, as applicable. Role models professional growth and development. Maintains active licensure(s) as required. Maintains professional and legal standards in relation to client care, appearance and conduct. Key Responsibilities: • To perform or assist the resident with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL). • Respond to residents call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy. • Transport residents by ambulation or by wheelchair to areas of community (dining room, lobby and activities). • Report any significant findings/observations to nurse immediately. • Assist residents on admission, transfer and discharge to make a smooth transition. • Responsible for the safekeeping of residents’ personal possessions. • Keep resident rooms neat and safe. • Follow proper infection control techniques • Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality. • Re-teach resident to perform ADL skills. • Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and complications. • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement and ensures follow-up occurs. • Converse with resident and family; assist them on adjustment to the community. • Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of resident; report deviations from norm to the Charge Nurse promptly. • Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output and weights accurately. Qualifications: • Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state employed; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Associate/Diploma prepared RNs from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution requires 2+ years of experience. If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within 1 year of hire date/RN job date and complete program within 5 years of hire/RN job date. Preferred: BSN from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution or MSN are preferred. Active Ohio RN License. May be required to obtain other state licensure. 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
