Order and arrange transfer of residents to acute care facilities as indicated, including provision of written consultation and telephone call to receiving ED. Provide end-of-shift sign out to nursing and medical staff. Make rounds to ensure that all residents are seen at least one time per shift. In partnership with nurse supervisor, take active role in education, support, and guidance of staff. Meet with parents, physicians, other staff, and/or administration as needed. Maintain knowledge base through continuing professional education programs and provide documentation to medical staff office.
