Assists with lab procedures, including collecting urine specimens, collecting and preparing blood samples for reference lab, labeling all specimens with accurate patient ID. Observes all safety precautions and standards; assures proper disposal of specimens and contaminated waste. LAB (if applicable) Performs lab procedures as directed by the provider including phlebotomy, peripheral sticks, collecting and preparing urine specimens, throat smears; conduct lab testing onsite after appropriate training, including waived and moderate complexity studies. Prepares equipment to begin testing lab specimens. Runs daily quality control tests as directed by lead clinical/lab staff. Adheres to quality control measures with all lab procedures, performing proficiency testing and conducting control testing and calibration on all equipment. Maintains Q/A Plan. RADIOLOGY (if applicable) Performs x-ray procedures as directed by the provider. Takes measures to prevent excessive exposure to patient and self. Completes all documentation and labeling of x-rays. What We Require: Education : Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing required, or new graduate of approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam. Experience : One (1) year experience in a physician office preferred. Licensure/Certification : Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Virginia (LPN) required. Licensure as a Radiologic Technician Limited if performing radiology. Current AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Other : Customer driven. Demonstrates a positive demeanor, good verbal and written communication skills, and a professional appearance and approach. Must have the ability to problem-solve and communicate with a wide variety of people in an effective manner.
