Minimum Qualifications Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required Patient-and Family-Centered Practice Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care and care planning. Job Title: Ambulatory Nurse II Department: Neurology Outpatient Headache/Facial Pain Division Location: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania - 3400 Spruce St Hours: Mon-Fri office hours Ambulatory Nurse II Summary: Neurology Headache Division is currently recruiting for a nurse to join the team at HUP/Perelman Center. The primary purpose of this role, within the Neurology Headache Division is to provide care coordination, patient education, medication refill/prior authorizations, phone triage, symptom management, complex medication management of headache and facial pain patients. Our growing headache division now spans several practice sites and this nurse will be an active part of those expansion efforts. This nurse will need a high level of triage skill to be successful in this busy division. The nurse will have a role in preparing medications such as botox, nerve blocks and trigger points for patients with acute headaches during office visits. The nurse will have opportunities to educate patients on injection techniques and facilitate coordination of infusion therapies as well. This interdisciplinary team is comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing that spans several sites. Neurology experience or knowledge is preferred but not required.
