Job Responsibilities Working in contract role in a local acute facility for a designated time period (usually 10-15 weeks) Providing high-quality nursing care in acute facilities in nearby areas Helping patients with activities of daily living by serving meals, feeding as needed, and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals Ambulating, turning, and positioning patients throughout the day and transporting them within the facility as needed Providing patient comfort by utilizing available resources and materials, answering patients’ call lights and requests, and reporting observations of the patient to the nursing supervisor Maintaining patient safety by checking and documenting vital signs and weight Recording intake and output information and performing point of care (POC) testing to include glucose checks (when permitted by scope of practice and facility policies) Documenting actions by charting, completing forms, reports, logs, and records Ensuring the confidentiality of patient information Adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations, reading professional publications, and maintaining licensure Qualifications and Skills Active, unencumbered Texas CNA license Successful completion of state required training and/or state-sanctioned competency exam Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or related role BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Immunizations as required Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Ready to Set Your Own Work-Life Balance?
